Parking

There is ample parking at Southwest High School for everyone. Participants are encouraged to park at the front of the building (to the south and west). Vendors and presenters should park on the north side for easier loading and unloading opportunities.

Meals

Your lunch is included with your registration. Both days you can choose from tasty deli offerings and eat lunch right onsite, starting at 11:15 AM and continuing until 1:30 PM. There will be seating in the commons area, or lunch can be taken outside (weather permitting). There will be separate lunch tickets in your registration packet for each day.

Morning and Afternoon snacks

Coffee and other beverages will be available starting at 8:00 AM and continuing until the lunch serving begins. Morning and afternoon break beverages and snacks will also be provided.

Morning Keynote Sessions

The general announcements and keynote address will begin each morning at 8:30. The comfortable auditorium theater-style seating allows for all participants to attend the motivating keynote presentations by our nationally recognized speakers.

For Graduate Credit

Participants that attend both days of the Institute can earn one graduate credit through Peru State College. Costs will be available in March. Interested participants will meet briefly with Renee' Bose on Monday morning at 10:10 AM in the Media Center directly after the first keynote session to get detailed instructions and a form to fill out.

PRIZES!

Win great prizes!

At the end of the day on Tuesday, gather in the multipurpose room for prize drawings! These special prizes are donated by vendors and can include hardware, software, books, T-shirts and more!

Hands-on Workshops

Each morning and afternoon, several extended-length hands-on workshops will be held throughout the building. Prior registration is required for attendance. Find the descriptions, times and workshop guidelines on the following pages. Register for these optional workshops (an additional $35.00 each) right on your Institute registration form. Sunday pre-conference extended length workshops will be $55.00 each. Workshop participants must also be registered for the Institute.

Vendor Exhibits

7:30 AM–3:30 PM Monday & 8:00 AM–3:30 PM Tuesday
Please make time to visit the exhibitors. Vendors representing many technologies will be showing the latest hardware and software. There will be extra time set aside to visit with exhibitors if you don’t want to miss anything! There will also be special drawings for exciting prizes donated by the exhibitors.

Housing

Several hotels have special conference rates for this event, on a limited basis (first come first served). You would make your own reservations and do NOT send housing money with your registration.

Reserve rooms before June 30 to be assured of the special rates. More information on Lincoln lodging and entertainment can be found at the Lincoln Convention and Visitor’s Bureau web site (http://www.lincoln.org/cvb/). Don’t wait! Hotels may fill quickly!

Our Quantity Discounts

See the Registration Page for complete information.

NCLB Funds and Registration

Title II A & D Professional Development funds may be available for conference registration fees! ESEA/NCLB mandates that 25% must be spent on Professional
Development, and MII is a very appropriate use of these funds. Check with your District Technology Coordinator, Business Manager or Superintendent to see if these funds are available.

NLC Credit for Library Professionals
Besides the opportunity for graduate credits (next page), the Institute is also approved by the Nebraska Library Commission (NLC) for Library Continuing Education certification credits.
